Belly Dance Is Good for Losing Weight

The literal translation of the term is “oriental dance”, meaning the classical dance originated in cortiislamiche the Middle East; Today the concept has expanded, coming to include all styles of this dance exist in the Muslim world. It is not exclusively performed by women and is considered one of the oldest dances in the world.

Raqs Sharqi is the Arabic name of what we all know as “dance of the  belly .” In addition to this interesting art you can reveal ally of our line.

When Europeans came into contact with the belly dancer (one of the first occasions was the campaign of Napoleon in Egypt in 1798) considered it scandalous and shameful because of the  sensual movements of the dancers and their clothing that highlighted forms.

Even today, too often, this dance is associated with adjectives “indecent” or “bold” and accompanied by smiles fools of those who believe they know better mockery of this art, but in fact has only absorbed centuries of prejudice and harsh wrong information to die.

The beneficial effects on the body and mind, however, are manifold: it increases the firmness of the breast, the shoulders, pelvis and stomach, shape your abs, tone up your thighs and slows osteoporosis. Above all, however, dance means “pull the plug”, recharge, enjoy a moment of tranquility. The mood improves and the mind relaxes and distracts you, you are free to concentrate the thoughts and energies only on the movement and rhythm of the  music .

ART FOR ALL. All women can practice belly dancing: there is no age limit, or an appropriate body type. For example, the shapely dancers are greatly appreciated, because this is about the sensuality and grace of movement, not the curves of the body .

This is an important point in favor of the Raqs Sharqi: helps to accept and become familiar with your own body, to be simply themselves and nothing else .
When you dance the only desire is to merge oneself with the music. There are no role models, stereotypes or competitions. Each shows what is in absolute tranquility.
The dancers are served, as well as one’s own body, even with some accessories that give “color” to the choreography: the veil, which hovers in the air communicating lightness; stick “Tahtib ” which is derived from a martial art then became male folk dance; the tambourine; the sword that the dancer must keep in balance; the sagat, a sort of brass cymbals that are positioned between the thumb and middle finger of both hands.
Finally, the oriental dance is a sport recognized by the Italian Federation of Dance Sport.
